Keeping your grant active – grant use policy
Grant use policy
The TotalAssist grant use policy requires patients to use their funding to keep the grant active and remain eligible. To keep your grant active, you must use it at least once every 120 days, during your grant’s 12-month eligibility period.
If you exceed 120 consecutive days with no processed claims, you will forfeit your award and are not eligible to reapply for the TotalAssist program until 12 months from the original approval date.
Ways to spend grant funding and keep your grant active
- Submit claims for eligible expenses
- Use your TotalAssist Pharmacy Card
- Use your travel expense pre-paid debit card (for transportation grants only)
What if my eligible expenses are more than 120 days apart?
We understand that for some conditions, treatment and visits are less frequent than every 120 consecutive days. We encourage you to contact us in advance to discuss ways to keep your grant active if you know your expenses will incur less frequently than every 120 days. Our support specialists can assist you with planning for grant use.
