When can I use my grant funding?

Grant eligibility period

• Same-day. As soon as you are approved for TotalAssist financial assistance, you can begin using your grant funding for covered expenses right away—same day.
• For 12 months. Your TotalAssist grant funding is available to you for 12 months from the date of approval, as long as you keep your grant in active status. This is called the grant eligibility period.

Expense eligibility includes a 6-month look back period

You can be reimbursed for eligible expenses you paid out-of-pocket for in the six months prior to your award date. That is what’s called the look back period. TotalAssist’s look back period is six months. To get reimbursed, submit a claim for that expense.

What does it mean to keep your grant active?

The TotalAssist grant use policy requires patients to use their funding to keep the grant active and remain eligible. To keep your grant active, you must use it at least once every 120 days, within your grant eligibility period.
