If your grant was closed

Grant closed because the maximum award was paid out

If you receive a letter confirming you have used the entire balance of your grant award up to the maximum amount, and your grant has been closed: read our article about paid out grants.

Grant closed because of inactivity

The TotalAssist program requires that you submit a claim at least every 120 days to keep your grant active. If it has been more than 120 days since your last claim submission, your grant will be closed.

Reminder at 60 days: If you have not submitted a claim or used your pharmacy or travel card in 60 days, we send you a reminder letter and notification to submit a claim to prevent your grant from closing.

Can I restore my award?

It might be possible to restore your award if funding is available and your grant has not yet expired. To restore your grant either submit a claim or contact us for help: 866-512-3861, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm ET.

Grant closed because we were unable to verify income or diagnosis

If we are unable to verify diagnosis and/or financial need within 30 days of your approval date, your grant will be closed. Read more: Unable to verify income or diagnosis – grant closed (link to article)

Other resources for patients beyond TotalAssist

Patient Advocate Foundation knows that patients may need support, information, and resources beyond TotalAssist. This can include services like case management, help with living expenses, and much more. Search our National Financial Resources Directory, find community specific resources, and explore our patient education library.
