Help with out-of-pocket costs for virology testing (health equity fund)
This TotalAssist Health Equity Fund covers clinical diagnostic procedures that identify the virus causing an infection (such as a respiratory virus, enteroviruses, and many others), monitoring viral load in chronic disease (such as HIV, HCV, and HBV), and measuring viral infection or reactivation after transplantation and in other immunocompromised patients.
Health Equity Funds offer help to eligible patients living in areas identified as having increased social and financial needs, as well as higher rates of chronic conditions. Eligibility is determined in part by home address zip code.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for this fund, you must:
- Have been recommended by your provider for virology testing for: diagnosing a viral infection or disease, testing or retesting to confirm status of infection or disease, or to guide treatment decisions
- Have health insurance that covers your qualifying expenses
- Have an income at or less than 500% of the Federal Poverty Level, adjusted for your regional Cost of Living Index (COLI). What is this?
- Be a legal resident and receive treatment in the U.S. or a U.S. territory
