About the disease
COVID-19 is a contagious illness caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus that can affect the lungs and many other parts of the body, with symptoms ranging from mild (such as fever, cough, and fatigue) to severe illness requiring medical care. Most people recover within a few weeks, although some experience more serious complications. Post-COVID, also known as Long COVID, refers to symptoms that continue or develop weeks or months after the initial infection. These symptoms can include fatigue, shortness of breath, brain fog, muscle aches, and difficulty concentrating, and they may affect daily activities and quality of life even after a mild case of COVID-19.
